We are a Society whose remit is to promote constructive international scientific collaboration among all of its members, regardless of their political or personal beliefs, in line with the ethical principles outlined in our bylaws. In this spirit we reiterate that we stand with all those affected by conflicts – whether past or present. We include particularly in our thoughts today the magnitude of the current humanitarian disaster in Gaza, and we join those from all communities, including academic institutions across the globe, who are unified in the continued call for peace.
